The Crucible - Deck

This plate shows how the show deck relates to the permanent Tomlinson stage. Notice, part of the drafting was abandoned

Crucible - Scaffolding

We used Tomlinson Theatre's massive scaffolding along with steel framed flats skinned with black scrim, to create translucent masking. We sought to create a sense of "Puritan Voyeurism"

Here we created a versatile bedroom unit that wheeled on to set the scene; primarily Betty Parish's bedroom.

This simple wagon mimics the show deck and rolls on for the courtroom scene.

Tituba's fire pit and cauldron slides over an open trap door on the deck from which orange and amber uplight are focused.
